Your choice

Without JavaScript nothing is measured on this site.

In short

  • Without your OK we only count visits anonymously: no cookies, nothing stored on your device, no IP addresses kept, and we cannot recognise you on a later visit.
  • With your OK (“Accept”) we also measure your visit in more detail. It helps us improve our site, give you the best experience and develop future products, hopefully made to your taste.
  • No advertising, nothing sold, nothing shared with advertising networks.
  • You can change your choice at any time with the button above. Declining later deletes the details we stored about you.

Who we are

Quantum Explorer runs the website quantumexplorer.space. Quantum Explorer is a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and part of HendrxDesign. We are responsible (the “controller”) for the personal data described on this page.

Questions and requests about your privacy: [email protected].

What we measure for every visitor

This anonymous counting runs for everyone, also when you decline or make no choice:

  • which sections you view and for how long, which products you open, for how long, whether you zoom in and which size you pick;
  • where you came from: the website that linked to us (without the rest of its address) or the campaign tag in the link;
  • how long the page was actually on your screen;
  • type of device, operating system, browser or app browser (read from what your browser sends; that text itself is not stored), screen size and sharpness, touch support, time zone and browser language, and on Android with Chrome the phone model;
  • country, region and city, and the name of your internet provider. Cloudflare (see below) derives these from your IP address. We do not store your IP address.

Each page load gets a random number that only exists while the page is open, so separate visits cannot be linked to each other or to you.

Why: to know how the site is used, which products interest people and whether everything works. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), with the privacy-friendly limits above. You can object by e-mail. Kept: 13 months, then deleted automatically.

What we measure only after you accept

  • a random visitor number stored in your browser, with the number of visits and the date of your first visit, so we can recognise a return visit;
  • your graphics chip, memory and number of processor cores; in Chrome-based browsers also the exact system version, processor type and browser version;
  • network type, speed and delay, and whether data saver is on;
  • touch screen or mouse, dark or light mode, reduced motion and contrast settings, window size and orientation, preferred languages and whether cookies are enabled;
  • how far down the page you scroll.

Why: to improve our site, give you the best experience and develop future products, hopefully made to your taste. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act). Kept: 6 months, then deleted automatically. When you decline later, the visitor number is removed from your browser and everything stored with it is deleted from our database.

What is stored in your browser

We use no cookies. We use your browser’s local storage, which stays on your device:

Who handles the data for us

Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this website and runs our measuring (Cloudflare Pages, Workers and a D1 database stored in the European Union). Cloudflare handles your IP address to deliver the site, protect it against attacks and automated traffic, and determine your approximate location. Cloudflare is a United States company; transfers outside the EU are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

For visitors outside the European Union, Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts page views, without cookies. It is switched off for visitors in the EU.

Our fonts and pictures are served from this website itself; no other companies receive data about your visit. The contact form is not connected yet: nothing you type in it is sent or stored.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data, to limit its use, to receive it in a common format, and you can object to the anonymous counting. You can withdraw your consent at any time with the button at the top of this page; this does not affect measuring done before. E-mail [email protected]; we answer within one month. If you accepted, include your visitor number (shown at the top of this page) so we can find your data. The anonymous counting cannot be linked to you, so we cannot look it up.

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as “no” and do not ask.

You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

When we change how we measure, we update this page and its date. For an important change we ask for your choice again.
